We all have that dream house that we made up when we were 5 years old, with an ice cream bar, a swing set, and a treehouse. And while the features you’d like your home to have may have changed over the years, the dream house desire probably hasn’t.
In this guide, I’ll be sharing how to manifest a house, so that you can get started on your journey to owning the home you’ve always wanted.
How To Manifest A House
Manifesting the house that’s always been in the back of your mind might seem impossible. After all, how do you even know that house exists?! And if it does, it must be far too expensive for you to be able to afford, right?
Wrong. I’m going to show you 5 steps to manifesting your dream home that will allow you to let go of all that negative talk, and get you on the path to owning that ice cream bar and treehouse.
Step 1: Make A List Of All The Features Of Your Dream House
Writing down exactly what you’re looking for will do two things. Number one, it will make your manifestation more powerful because you’re getting clear on exactly what you want. Number two, it will help you to realize that what you want isn’t unattainable.
Many believe in the power of writing to manifest things and people in your life.
If the house you’re manifesting will be your forever home, think about what you’ll want in 20 years’ time, as well as what you want now.
Maybe in a few years, you’d like your parents to move into an annex connected to your home. If that’s the case then you’ll want to either add an annex to your list of features or the space to extend your house.
Remember that this is YOUR dream house so nothing is out of bounds. If you want to be able to have a swimming pool in your back garden, or a wine cellar, don’t think about the practicalities or the expense, just add it to your list.
Step 2: Visualize Your Dream House
A great way of visualizing your dream house is to create a mood/vision board for it. Whether it’s one you create online or an old-school physical copy where you cut pictures out of a magazine and stick them down, create some sort of visual aid and place it where you’ll see it often.
If you work from home, your office would be a great place to put it up, as it will inspire you and also motivate you to work hard to be able to attain this property.
Alternatively, if you’ve made a vision board online, saving it as your desktop home screen can be really inspirational. Canva is a great tool to use to create this.
If not, think about the space you feel most calm or spend the most time in. If you have a specific room you always meditate in, that would be a great place, so you can focus your meditations around your dream home.
Or, if you spend a lot of time in the lounge, dedicate a little corner to your manifestation.
Step 3: Realize Your Limiting Beliefs
What blocks do you have around owning a property? And when I’m talking about a property, I mean THE property of all properties, the dream home. There tend to be 3 top limiting beliefs when it comes to manifesting a house.
I don’t deserve it
This is a common limiting belief but it really makes no sense. Why would you not deserve to live in a beautiful home that feels like a sanctuary to you?
This belief often comes from the way we were raised and is especially present in people who were brought up in lower-income families, or families with a lack mindset. Thoughts of ‘my family never got a house like this, why would it be any different for me?’ or ‘I haven’t worked hard enough to deserve this’ can often creep up, but it’s important to shut those thoughts down quickly.
You are creating your own path, which is separate from anyone else’s, including your family.
I can’t afford it
Not with that attitude you can’t! By telling yourself that you can’t afford your dream home, you’re already writing it off. Action only comes from a place of belief.
If you don’t believe you can buy the home you dream of, you won’t take the actions required to buy it. You won’t be as determined to save your financial goal for a down payment, and you won’t seek out houses either online or when driving around the neighborhood.
Instead, you’ll plod along as normal, caught up in wishing for your dream house but not able to reach it.
If, on the other hand, you tell yourself that you can afford a property you love, you will find it much easier to put in the actions, even if they suck at the time, because you’ll be excited at the prospect of reaching your goal.
What I mean by ‘sucky’ actions is that you might find you need to take on a second job in order to reach your savings goal, or date night might have to be at home for a while.
But you won’t care, you’ll know that like with anything, manifesting a house takes time and effort, and you’ll feel so happy to be on a path towards it that you’ll be able to celebrate every milestone.
It doesn’t exist
When you’ve visualized your dream home, it’s very easy to believe that you can’t manifest it because it doesn’t exist, but it does.
Go back to your list again and look at all the features you want for your property. Unless it has its own helipad or a UFO in the back garden, these features are unlikely to be unattainable. It might look slightly different from the picture in your head, but with some searching, you can find exactly what you’re looking for.
And if it does happen to be a helipad or a UFO in the garden that you’re manifesting, the great thing is that there’s always the option to buy land and build your own house from scratch and create the exact home in your visions (and with those features, I’m pretty sure ALL of your friends would want to visit).
Some other limiting beliefs to be aware of are:
- The housing market is really bad right now
- The housing market is too competitive
- I can’t find a great house in the area I want
Step 4: Use Affirmations For Your Dream Home
Once you’ve got over your mental blocks around owning your dream home, you can replace those negative thoughts with positive affirmations to help bring your new home to you quickly.
Here are some great affirmations to manifest a house:
- My house feels like a sanctuary
- I am so blessed to live in such a beautiful home
- My dream house is waiting for me
- My home is perfect for me
- I love watching my family grow in our forever home
- I deserve a home where I feel happy
- My home is a relaxing and tranquil place for everyone who visits
You’ll notice that all of these affirmations use the present tense. When you are manifesting a house using affirmations, it’s important to act ‘as if’, which means to speak of your dream home as if you already have it.
The reason for this is that your mindset shifts from one of lack to one of abundance, and in the universe like attracts like, which means abundance attracts more abundance for you.
The universe also responds to strong, clear affirmations over weak ones, so if you were to replace the affirmation ‘I am so blessed to live in such a beautiful home’ with ‘I hope to live in a beautiful home someday’, even though it has the same intention, it is a much weaker affirmation which means manifesting will be much harder.
Step 5: Allow The Universe To Take Over
The hardest part is surrendering to the universe and trusting that it will bring you what you want at the right time.
By surrendering, I don’t mean that you should forget about it entirely, you should still be visualizing your dream home, putting in the actions to get there, and replacing any self-doubts with positive affirmations, but keep a level of calm confidence and trust in the universe and the fact it is bringing your dream house into your life, and also trust in yourself that you have the ability to manifest a house.
Make sure you keep looking on housing websites and viewing homes, even if you’re not quite ready to buy, keep referring back to your list to make it as specific as possible, and ensure that all the features you dreamt of are still what you’re looking for.
Final Thoughts On Manifesting A House
Those are 5 ways that you can manifest a house. The key to manifestation is confidence and positivity because the universe is always responding to the energy you give out.
Remember that you’re not manifesting $10, you’re manifesting the home you want to live in until you’re old and gray, so it’s likely to take a little time to find the perfect place.
With a manifestation of this size, it’s common for limiting beliefs to keep popping their ugly heads in from time to time, so when they try and knock on your door, just send them packing, and focus on the positive affirmations you’ve created instead.
